Effects of Elastic Band Resistance Exercise on Muscle Strength and Depression in Hospitalized Elderly.

With improved a five-day intensive, low-resistance elastic band exercise program to evaluate its effectiveness in improving total muscle mass, upper and lower extremity muscle strength, self-perceived fear of falling, and depression among hospitalized elderly individuals. This study is a random control trial. Data collection includes elderly patient's total muscle mass, upper and lower extremity muscle strength, self-perceived fear of falling, and depression among hospitalized. The total muscle mass and upper and lower extremity muscle strength will be calculated in kilograms.

Gather.Town Gaming for Pregnant Adolescents With Depression Literacy

Aim The study seeks to: 1. To assess the effect of the Gather.town gaming intervention on promoting depression literacy among pregnant adolescents in Thailand. 2. To compare the depression literacy before and after receiving the Gather.town gaming intervention in the experimental group. Methods This quasi-experimental study employed a two-group, pretest-posttest design to assess the effect of a Gather.town gaming intervention on promoting depression literacy among pregnant adolescents in Thailand. 64 first-time pregnant adolescents aged 15-19 years with gestational age under 21 weeks were recruited from three hospitals using stratified random sampling. Participants were randomly assigned to the experimental group (n = 32) or control group (n = 32). The experimental group participated in eight sessions of REBT-based interactive gaming on the Gather.town platform over four weeks (two sessions per week), while the control group received routine antenatal care and a depression literacy booklet. Quantitative data were collected at four time points (baseline, immediate post-intervention, 1-month, and 3-month follow-ups) using validated tools, including the Depression Literacy Questionnaire (D-Lit), depressive symptoms (EPDS), mental distress (BSRS-5), and platform usability (SUS). Qualitative data were gathered through focus group interviews after the intervention. Statistical analyses were performed using SPSS version 22. Descriptive statistics summarized participant characteristics. Chi-square tests examined group differences. Generalized Estimating Equations (GEE) were used to compare depression literacy scores across time points while accounting for clustering by hospital and adjusting for covariates. The significance level was set at p \< 0.05.

Ultrasonication-mediated Microbubbles Dressing for Hand Arthritis

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if ultrasonication-mediated microbubbles dressing works to treat hand arthritis in adults. It will also learn about the safety of ultrasonication-mediated microbubbles dressing. The main questions it aims to answer are: Does ultrasonication-mediated microbubbles dressing increase the therapeutic efficacy of piroxicam gel for hand arthritis? Researchers will compare "ultrasonication-mediated microbubbles dressing + piroxicam gel " to "ultrasonication + piroxicam gel" and "piroxicam gel alone" to see if ultrasonication-mediated microbubbles dressing works to treat hand arthritis. Participants will: Take "ultrasonication-mediated microbubbles dressing (day 1,3,5) + piroxicam gel (day 2,4,6,7) ", "ultrasonication (day 1,3,5) + piroxicam gel (day 2.4.6.7)", and "piroxicam gel alone (day 1-7)" for 1 week. Visit the clinic on day 1 and day 8 for checkups and tests Keep a diary of their symptoms

Interactive Exergaming With Otago Exercise Program on Mobility in Community-Dwelling Older Adults

This clinical trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of interactive exergaming combined with Otago Exercise Program on mobility among community-dwelling older adults aged 65 and above. The main research questions are: Does this combined exercise intervention improve elderly mobility? Does this program enhance muscle strength and psychological well-being? Researchers will compare two groups: one group will do the combined exercise program for 12 weeks, while the other group will continue their usual activities. Participants will: * Have their health checked three times: at the start, after 12 weeks, and 3 months later * If in the exercise group, attend exercise sessions twice a week for 12 weeks * Complete tests about their physical abilities and how they feel emotionally Who can take part: * Adults age 65 or older * People who need more than 12 seconds to stand up and sit down 5 times * People who can stand for at least 30 seconds with support People cannot take part if they have serious vision problems, recent leg injuries, major illnesses, significant memory problems, or mental health conditions.

Effects of mHealth Message on Metabolic Syndrome and Bone Loss of HIV Infected Persons in Taiwan

With improved AIDS treatment leading to extended survival, HIV-infected individuals face a higher metabolic syndrome incidence. This study aims to determine the prevalence of Non-AIDS related Comorbidities (NARC) in HIV-infected individuals. Using purposive and snowball sampling, the cross-sectional survey targets 400 HIV-infected individuals aged 30 and above. Data collection includes demographics, physical activity, nutrition, depression, and physiological measurements. Analyzing the data through statistical tests and structural equation modeling, the study aims to provide precise care recommendations for preventive medicine and healthy aging in this population.
