Brazilian Registry of Menopausal Health

The Brazilian Registry of Menopausal Health is a national study aimed to better understand the health and quality of life of participants aged 35 to 65 who are in the menopausal transition or postmenopausal phase, including cisgender women and transgender men. The study's hypothesis is that significant regional and socioeconomic disparities influence individuals' health, knowledge, and perception of menopause.

Subdermal Implant-bioabsorbable Oxandrolone Pellet For Rehabilitation Following Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Surgical Reconstruction

Rehabilitation of knee stability and function after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction is slow and costly. The use of anabolic steroids, such as oxandrolone, may aid in the recovery of muscle mass and strength, as well as functional capacity. Oxandrolone, derived from dihydrotestosterone, has high anabolic activity and low androgenic activity (a 13:1 ratio), making it more effective in promoting weight gain with fewer side effects compared to other steroids. Registered by the FDA and previously by ANVISA (National Health Surveillance Agency (Brazil), it is indicated for cases of post-trauma or post-surgery weight loss. The subdermal use of oxandrolone implants is proposed to release the drug directly into the bloodstream, improving efficacy and reducing issues related to oral administration. This study evaluates the safety and tolerability of the absorbable subdermal oxandrolone implant for 24 weeks versus placebo implant in both men and women as an adjuvant treatment during rehabilitation following anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgical reconstruction. The serum and pharmacokinetic profile of the oxandrolone implant will be monitored.

Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy or Pneumatic Compression VTE Prophylaxis

Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is frequent in patients in the intensive care unit (ICU). Pharmacologic prophylaxis is sometimes contraindicated, and mechanical prophylaxis is used. The primary objective of the study is to compare Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF) with conventional mechanical prophylaxis for the prevention of VTE in patients in the ICU.

VTE Incidence After Rivaroxaban + Aspirin or SAPT After Lower-limb Revascularization

Venous thromboembolism (VTE) has a high prevalence in patients with multiple comorbidities undergoing complex surgical procedures. Sometimes, extended prophylaxis for VTE with KLMWH or direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) is necessary. Currently, there is no consensus in the literature regarding the use of DOACs for extended VTE prophylaxis in patients undergoing lower limb revascularization (LLR). Objective: To evaluate the use of DOACs (already approved to reduce MACE and MALE) in VTE prophylaxis in patients undergoing LLR.
