We attempt to examine the association between serum leucine-rich alpha-2 glycoprotein (LRG) levels and endoscopic activity in patients with possible ulcerative colitis (UC) or Crohn's disease (CD) to determine whether LRG was a predicting marker for UC or CD.

We attempt to clarify the serum leucine-rich α 2-glycoprotein (LRG) level which can predict histologic remission in ulcerative colitis patients in this study. Colonoscopy with histology will be performed when histologic remission is predicted, irrespective of symptoms or serum LRG values. Serum LRG levels are analyzed by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.

Eligible patients will be identified in regular clinical practice. After providing thorough explanation and obtaining voluntary written informed consent, the clinical course, adverse events, endoscopic findings, and histopathological changes in biopsy specimens after Etrasimod administration will be prospectively collected and analyzed.

The traditional Japanese medicine, Keishi-ka-shakuyaku-daio-to is administered to patients with symptomatic pneumatosis cystoides intestinalis (PCI) as compared with lactomin for 8 weeks.

The bleeding rate of both EGD (including biopsy) and colonoscopy (including biopsy, cold or hot snare polypectomy, or EMR) in patients who continue to take various antithrombotic drugs is studied prospectively. The immediate or delayed bleeding that requires hemostatic clipping or other endoscopic treatments is defined as the bleeding. Immediate bleeding requiring hemostatic clipping is defined as spurting or oozing which continued for more than 30 seconds. Delayed bleeding is defined as bleeding that requires the endoscopic treatment within 2 weeks after endoscopy. Prophylactic clipping is not performed after taking biopsy and doing polypectomy. Additionally, investigators evaluate the rate of injured submucosal arteries of the excised specimen when the bleeding occurs.
