Stroke Rehabilitation Through Intensive Exercise

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn whether combining moderate to high intensity aerobic exercise with constraint-induced movement therapy (CI therapy) can improve walking ability in adults who have had a stroke. The study will also learn if telerehabilitation at home can support long-term recovery after intensive rehabilitation. The main questions this study aims to answer are: * Does moderate to high intensity aerobic exercise before CI therapy improve walking ability, balance and lower extremity function in people with long-lasting gait difficulties after stroke? * Does CI therapy alone lead to similar or different improvements in walking ability, balance or lower extremity function? * Does telerehabilitation help participants maintain or further improve their function after the intensive rehabilitation period? Researchers will compare two groups. One group will receive 4 weeks of CI therapy, 5 days per week, plus 20 minutes of moderate-to-high-intensity aerobic exercise before the rehabilitation session on 3 of these days, and the other group will receive 4 weeks of CI therapy, 5 days per week, without preparatory aerobic exercise. After the completion of CI therapy, all participants will be offered an individualized 8-week telerehabilitation program to follow at home. They will use a mobile application to report physical activity and follow instructions for telerehabilitation. All participants will complete two assessment visits (about 3 hours each), 1-2 weeks before and 1-2 weeks after CI therapy. They will also complete questionnaires electronically after the telerehabilitation program. Daily activity will be measured twice during the study: once during a week after the intensive rehabilitation and once during a week after the telerehabilitation program. A small movement sensor worn on the thigh will be used. The sensor is attached with a soft strap or an adhesive patch and is comfortable to wear all day. The sensor shows how much a person walks, stands, or sits in everyday life. It is light, does not disturb normal activities, and only collects movement information for the study. An instruction sheet will be included to make it easy to use.

Timing of Broccoli Sprout Intake to Improve Exercise Performance

This study examines how the timing of intake of a broccoli sprout-based drink (a natural source of isothiocyanates, ITCs) affects physiological responses, recovery, and performance after a standardized endurance cycling session. Healthy, endurance-trained adults (18-64 years) will complete four laboratory visits at the Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences (GIH): one screening/physiology test visit and three intervention visits in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled cross-over design. On intervention visits, participants will ingest either an active broccoli sprout drink (50 g sprouts) or a placebo drink based on alfalfa sprouts (50 g sprouts) according to randomization. The drink will be consumed either approximately 16 hours before exercise (the evening before) or approximately 3 hours before exercise (the morning of the test), enabling comparison of timing in relation to a standardized \~2-hour cycling protocol (individualized intensity) followed by a 10 km cycling time trial. Outcomes include measures of performance, heart rate, perceived exertion and recovery, blood glucose and lactate, and metabolic responses. Venous blood samples are collected at multiple time points before and after exercise and during the subsequent laboratory recovery period, and muscle biopsies are obtained at defined time points to assess muscle metabolism and recovery-related markers. Participants return \~24 hours after exercise for follow-up sampling after an overnight fast, including a glucose tolerance test

Step by Step Back - A Feasibility Study of a Physical Activity Intervention for Adults With Stress-related Exhaustion

The goal of this clinical study is to learn whether a psychologist- or psychotherapist-guided physical activity program can be delivered and used as part of regular care for adults experiencing stress-related exhaustion. The program is designed to be integrated into regular psychological treatment as usual and supports participants in developing physical activity habits in a gradual, individualized, and sustainable way. The main questions this study aims to answer are: * Can participants complete the program and attend the planned sessions? * Do participants and clinicians find the program acceptable, relevant, and useful? * Is the program safe, and do any negative experiences occur during the program? * What practical barriers and facilitators affect participation and delivery in routine care? * What descriptive patterns of change are seen in physical activity, symptoms, and everyday functioning from before to after the program? The program is based on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). It includes strategies to help participants set meaningful goals, take step-by-step actions toward those goals, and respond more flexibly to uncomfortable thoughts, emotions, and body sensations that may arise in relation to physical activity. About 12 to 20 participants will take part. The program is designed to be integrated into about 5 to 6 individual sessions delivered over a flexible time period, depending on each participant's pace and circumstances. Participants will: * Take part in the physical activity program as part of their regular psychological treatment * Complete online questionnaires before and after the program * Log their physical activity during the program * Provide feedback after the program (and some participants will also take part in an interview) The results will be used to assess whether the program is feasible and acceptable for participants and clinicians and to inform further refinement and future evaluation.

Training for Men Undergoing Androgen Deprivation Therapy.

The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate the effects of a newly developed training concept on men with prostate cancer undergoing androgen deprivation therapy (ADT). The main questions it aims to answer are: * How feasible and safe is the new training concept? * How efficient is the training concept to counteract side effects caused by ADT? Researchers will compare the new training concept with usual care to evaluate how efficient the training concept is to counteract the ADT-related side effects. Participants in the intervention group will perform the new training concept twice weekly for 12 weeks. Participants in the control group will only receive usual care. All participants will visit the laboratory at baseline and after 6 and 12 weeks to measure the primary and secondary outcomes.
