About this trial

We hypothesize vascular beta3 adrenergic receptors are present and functional in aging women and can be targeted to attenuate sympathetic vasoconstriction and enhance vascular function in aging women.

Treatments tested in this trial

  • Placebo

    Drug

    Participants will receive a placebo in pill form.

  • Gemtesa

    Drug

    Participants will receive oral gemtesa (75 mg).

Treatment groups

60 Participants
are divided into 2 treatment groups
Group A: Cold pressor testExperimental treatment 2 interventions
Group B: Flow Mediated DilationExperimental treatment 2 interventions

Primary outcomes

Blood flow

Blood flow measured with Doppler ultrasound.

Time frame
Change from baseline to minute 2.
