Self-Help Plus (SH+) for Stress Reduction in Social Service Workers: A Pilot RCT

This is a two-arm, stratified cluster-randomized controlled pilot trial evaluating the feasibility and preliminary effectiveness of the World Health Organization's Self-Help Plus (SH+) intervention for stress reduction among social service workers employed by the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services (ASHP). Four institutions (clusters) are randomized 1:1, stratified by service type, to receive either SH+ plus Enhanced Care as Usual (ECAU) or ECAU only, with a target of 50 participants (25 per arm). The primary aim is to assess feasibility indicators (recruitment, session attendance, retention, and acceptability) to inform a future full-scale definitive trial. Preliminary effects on perceived stress and related mental health and well-being outcomes are examined as secondary outcomes.

The INSPIRE Study: INvestigation of Swiss Physicians Inner-life, Resilience, and Emotions

The goal of this clinical trial, nested within an observational cohort study, is to evaluate whether two positive psychology web-based interventions can reduce emotional exhaustion and improve overall well-being in practicing physicians in Switzerland. The main questions it aims to answer are: Does participation in positive psychology interventions reduce emotional exhaustion at three months post-intervention? How do these interventions impact physician wellness, job satisfaction, comfort with end-of-life communication and other aspects of physicians' emotional well-being? Researchers will compare the effects of two intervention arms (general reflection vs. work-specific reflection) to a control group to determine whether focusing on work-specific aspects leads to greater improvements in emotional exhaustion and job-related outcomes. Participants will: * Complete an 8-day intervention consisting of positive psychology activities delivered online. * Complete baseline and follow-up assessments over the study period

The PREGNANT (Pregnant Resident Empowerment, GuidaNce, and Advocacy iN Training) Coaching Project

This is a mixed-methods study designed to develop and evaluate an innovative coaching program for physician trainee mothers. Approximately 48 participants will be recruited from informational flyers posted in resident work areas and distributed by program directors and GME. Interested participants will email study staff. Participants will be randomized to the control or intervention arm. Intervention participants will meet monthly with a novice physician coach of their choice (one-on-one) and a certified physician coach (with an assigned group of 6 peers through video-conferencing). Participants in both arms of the study will respond to surveys at three points: enrollment (baseline), 4 months, and 7 months. At each point, they will spend approximately 10 minutes filling the survey. The survey will query demographics, burnout, professional fulfillment, imposter phenomenon, self-valuation, self-efficacy, resilience, quality of life, and impact of work on professional relationships. The coaching intervention will last 4 months, and the 7 month survey will be used only to assess long-term effects of the intervention. At the conclusion of the study (7 months after enrollment), participants will be interviewed over video communication (secure Partners or Harvard Zoom) for approximately 30 minutes.

Supervision in Substance Use Disorder Treatment Programs

Substance use disorders such as opioid addiction affect millions of adults in the United States each year, but the delivery of high-quality, effective addiction services is disrupted by organizational issues such as counselor burnout and turnover. Clinical supervisors are essential for supporting counselors in specialty addiction treatment programs, but few supervisors receive supervision-focused training. This project seeks to develop and pilot an evidence-based supervision strategy that has a high potential to enhance supervision and result in improved counselors' well-being and performance and, in turn, to improve client outcomes.

The Effect of Laughter Yoga on Individual and Organizational Outcomes in Nurse Managers

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if laughter yoga can improve both individual and organizational outcomes in nurse managers. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Does laughter yoga lower burnout and stress levels in nurse managers? * Does laughter yoga improve work-life quality and job performance? * Does laughter yoga help nurse managers make better decisions and solve problems more effectively? * Does laughter yoga lower compassion fatigue and support positive approaches to workplace conflict? Researchers will compare a laughter yoga group with a control group to see if there are meaningful differences. Participants will: * Join structured laughter yoga sessions for a defined period (weekly sessions). * Complete surveys before and after the program about stress, burnout, work-life quality, decision-making, problem solving, job performance, compassion fatigue, and conflict approaches. * Continue their usual work while attending sessions.

Fostering Optimal Regulation of Emotion for Prevention of Secondary Trauma (FOREST)

FOREST is a positive emotion skills program designed to target mental health and coping needs for frontline violence prevention workers at UCAN. Ten skills are taught over a period of nine months during existing meetings and wellness activities, as well as in online modules in UCAN's Learning Management System (LMS). Decision Fatigue and Emotional Exhaustion Among Anesthesiologists

This study aims to evaluate the level of decision fatigue among anesthesiologists actively practicing in clinical settings in Turkey and to examine its relationship with emotional exhaustion. Participants will complete an online survey including demographic information, the Decision Fatigue Scale (DFS), and the Emotional Exhaustion subscale of the Maslach Burnout Inventory. The study will explore associations between decision fatigue scores and demographic or professional variables, as well as correlations with emotional exhaustion levels. Data will be collected anonymously and analyzed to identify factors contributing to cognitive load and burnout among anesthesiologists.

Mastery Learning in Communication Skills

The goal of this study is to determine whether mastery learning in communication skills can improve skills in a simulated environment and have translational improvements in outcomes. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. Does mastery learning improve skills in the simulation laboratory? 2. Does mastery learning improve clinical skills as seen by milestone performance? and 3 Does mastery learning improve burnout levels? The study is a multi-institutional randomized controlled trial of anesthesiology residents from five different residency programs. Participants will be randomized to mastery training in communication skills and standard of care, which is vicarious learning. Researchers will compare these two groups to see if mastery learning improves skills and translational outcomes.

AI-Augmented Motivational Interviewing Training for Primary Care

This study will examine the impact of training primary care providers (PCPs) in motivational interviewing (MI) using artificial intelligence (AI) to augment the training process. MI is a patient-centered approach to engaging patients in their own care. There will be a control group and two intervention groups, with the intervention groups receiving a different amount of MI training. The hypothesis is that the AI-augmented MI training will result in improved patient outcomes, improved clinician wellbeing, and reduced behavioral manifestation of clinician biases. This mixed-methods project will also collect qualitative data from structured interviews and focus groups with participating PCPs to examine perceived facilitators and barriers to the use of the MI approach in primary care.
