Anxiety-, obsessive-compulsive and trauma- and stressor-related disorders reflect a significant public health problem. This study is designed to evaluate the predictive power of a novel biomarker based on a CO2 challenge, thus addressing the central question "can this easy-to-administer assay aid clinicians in deciding whether or not to initiate exposure-based therapy?"

This study seeks to understand emotion regulation in those with young adults with anxiety using real-time functional magnetic resonance imaging neurofeedback, a tool that allows individuals to control brain activity. The goal of this project is to understand how receiving feedback about one's own brain activity relates to emotion regulation ability. This work will help the study team understand the brain areas involved in emotion regulation and could lay the groundwork to test if psychotherapy outcomes can be enhanced using neurofeedback. The study hypotheses include: * Participants receiving veritable-Neurofeedback (NF) will show a greater activation increases in the prefrontal cortex (PFC) compared to sham-NF * Participants receiving veritable-NF will show greater cognitive reappraisal (CR) ability compared to those receiving sham-NF * PFC activation will positively correlate with CR ability

The current study aims to explore the efficacy of a text message based safety behavior fading intervention compared to a progressive muscle relaxation intervention for appearance concerns.

The present study is a controlled trial that seeks to examine the feasibility, acceptability, mechanism, and efficacy of a recently developed computer-based therapy in individuals with social anxiety disorder (SAD)

The purpose of this clinical trial is to answer the question: can the investigators predict which adults with social anxiety disorder (SAD) will successfully respond to treatment? To answer this question, the investigators plan to recruit 190 adult participants who experience extreme forms of social anxiety to undergo brain imaging before and after 12 weeks of group cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Adults in the SAD group who do not respond enough to group CBT may be offered the opportunity to complete an additional 12 weeks of individual CBT while receiving SSRI medication (sertraline, see below) for SAD. Data collected from participants who experience anxiety will be compared to a group of 50 participants with little or no social anxiety, who will serve as a comparison group.

The purpose of this study is to test how the delivery of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for pediatric anxiety and OCD via different methods might increase its availability and effectiveness. CBT involves teaching the patient skills to enable them to gradually come into contact with feared situations. This process of gradually approaching feared situations is called exposure. Although CBT with exposure has the best evidence for treating anxiety disorders, not all children have equal access or respond the same way to CBT. As part of this study, patients will receive weekly CBT treatment sessions involving a combination of weekly visits with an exposure coach and one visit a month with a licensed provider (e.g., psychologist, social worker). This treatment will be delivered using one of three methods: 1) in-person (face-to-face sessions, occurring in the office and the home/community), or 2) telehealth (entirely remote sessions via web-based video conference), or 3) flexible (individualized mix of in-person and/or telehealth sessions). Eligible participants will be randomly assigned to one of these three methods. Results of this study will help determine which treatment method works best for whom. Treatment as described above will occur as part of care at partnering community care sites in Rhode Island. Providers from the following partnering community care sites will make up patient treatment teams: Blackstone Valley Community Health Care, Family Services of Rhode Island, Gateway Healthcare, Newport Mental Health, and Thrive Behavioral Health. The research study is being conducted by the Pediatric Anxiety Research Center at Brown University Health. The research team will conduct the study assessments that patients will be asked to participate in as study participants. Patients will be asked to complete assessments prior to starting treatment, at two time points during treatment, at the end of treatment, and at two timepoints 3 and 6 months following the end of treatment. Participants will be compensated for their time completing research assessments.

The project's aim is to investigate the effect of a transdiagnostic, self-guided, internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy program in waitlist patients with anxiety disorders.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate QbMobile's ability to collect objective data to identify specific symptom profiles in differential diagnoses (ASD, MDD, Bipolar Disorder and Anxiety Disorder) that are common with ADHD.

The study will compare the delivery of an 8-week Mindful Self-Compassion training, in-person against video-conference, on anxiety and depression symptom severity in patients with diagnosed anxiety disorders (generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, and panic disorder) or major depressive disorder or dysthymia.

Social processing and cognition are often altered in patients with eating disorders. The goal of this clinical trial is to assess two different social therapeutic interventions -- one educational, one interactive -- for their effectiveness in improving clinical outcomes in patients with eating disorders. Patients in both interventions will receive education about social function in eating disorders, but those in the interactive treatment group will complete an additional collaborative art task. Participants will: * attend a baseline study visit to complete clinical interviews, cognitive testing, and behavioral tasks * complete a pre-intervention assessment with questionnaires * attend eight sessions of their assigned treatment group over the course of 12 weeks * complete three virtual follow-up assessments 4, 8, and 12 months from their baseline * attend a final study visit to repeat some clinical interviews, cognitive testing, and behavioral tasks Researchers will compare changes in eating disorder, mood, and anxiety symptoms as well as test results from baseline and final study visits for each group to see if * patients can be treated effectively with education alone or if an interactive group component produces additional benefits * cognitive and behavioral task performance are associated with recovery or illness state.

The purpose of this study is to use transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) to better understand the neural circuits associated with social motivation. Participant includes four study visits each that range from 1.5 - 3.0 hours in duration over approximately a one month period. The first study visit involves answering survey questions, a clinical interview, and computer tasks. The second study visit involves a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan, computer tasks, and a brief TMS protocol. The second and third study visits involve a full session of TMS followed by an MRI scan and computer tasks. Adults in the Auburn/Opelika area and surrounding areas who avoid social situations, experience symptoms of depression or social anxiety, and are between 25 years old and 50 years old are eligible to participate.

The goal of this clinical trial is to compare stepped care to stratified care as overall healthcare models for children and adolescents aged 8-17 with anxiety disorders. It addresses one main question: • Is stepped care non-inferior to stratified care in supporting participants to achieve a treatment response? Researchers will compare two care models: * Stepped care, where all participants begin with 14 weeks of internet-delivered cognitive behavioral therapy (ICBT) and receive an additional 14 weeks of personalized in-person CBT if needed. * Stratified care, where participants are assigned to either 14 weeks of ICBT or 14 weeks of in-person CBT based on clinical complexity, and may also receive additional 14 weeks of in-person CBT if necessary. Participants will: * Be randomly assigned to one of the two care models. * Complete a wide range of assessments at baseline, during treatment, and at 4, 8, 12, and 24 months, with the 8-month point as the primary endpoint. * Receive either ICBT, in-person CBT, or both, depending on their care model and response to treatment. * Participate in ancillary studies involving DNA sampling, cognitive testing, and national registry linkages to help predict treatment response and long-term outcomes.

The goal of this study is to develop a new internet-delivered cognitive behavioral therapy (ICBT) intervention for youths with anxiety disorders based on the best current knowledge about effective cognitive behavioral therapy for the target group, refine the intervention in collaboration with patient and public representatives, and conduct a preliminary evaluation of the treatment effects in an open clinical trial. The primary objective of the study is: 1\. To evaluate the preliminary efficacy of a newly developed ICBT intervention for children and adolescents with anxiety disorders in reducing anxiety severity, as measured by the Pediatric Anxiety Rating Scale (PARS). Secondary objectives of the study are: 1. To examine the preliminary efficacy (PARS) of the ICBT intervention at 3 months post-treatment. 2. To examine how youths with anxiety disorders, their caregivers, therapists, and healthcare leadership experience the ICBT intervention. 3. To examine factors (e.g., age, type of anxiety disorder, presence of depressive symptoms, experiences of ICBT) that predict treatment outcome. 4. To examine how the ICBT intervention can be improved (e.g., treatment content and technical delivery) for future use. Participants will: * Undergo ICBT treatment for anxiety disorders during 12 weeks * Complete questionnaires at multiple time points throughout the study * Participate in follow-ups post-treatment and 3 months post-treatment * A selection of participants will also be invited to focus group interviews with the aim to generate ideas on how the intervention may be improved for future use

The purpose of this study is to understand why some individuals respond fully to cognitive behavioral therapy and others do not, based on multiple sources of data such as neural, neurocognitive, clinical, and self-report data.

Background: Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) is a common mental problem, where people experience severe and disabling anxiety about social situations and interactions. It is highly prevalent world-wide and in Hong Kong, causing significant suffering/distress. While evidence-based interventions exist, e.g., cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), there will be not enough trained therapists to meet the treatment demand so that the majority of the SAD patients receive no treatment. Internet-based therapies may offer a solution, given that they deliver treatment more cost-efficiently by requiring lesser therapist time so that more patients can be treated with the same therapist resources. One UK internet-based CBT protocol for SAD, iCBT(C\&W), shows high efficacy and efficiency in initial UK and Hong Kong trials with Englishspeaking patients. Objectives: 1. To develop and confirm the efficacy of a Chinese-language version of iCBT(C\&W), administered by clinical psychologists in standard therapist-guided format. 2. To develop an even more cost-efficient new self-help format with some minimal 'coaching' performed by trained psychology bachelor-level graduates - its efficacy expected as 'noninferior' to that of the therapist-guided format. Overall design: Three-arm parallel group randomised controlled noninferiority trial: Standard therapist-guided iCT-SAD vs. Guided self-help iCT-SAD vs. Waitlist Method: The iCBT(C\&W) protocol will be translated into Chinese. Approximately 110 Chinese adults with SAD will be recruited in Hong Kong and randomised into one of two treatment conditions, therapist-guided versus self-help. The treatment lasts 14 weeks. The primary outcome measure will be Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale (self-report version).

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a brief, efficient, and effective treatment for individuals with depressive/anxiety disorders. However, CBT is largely underutilized within the Department of Veterans Affairs due to the cost and burden of trainings necessary to deliver all of the related disorder-specific treatments (DSTs). Transdiagnostic Behavior Therapy (TBT), in contrast, is specifically designed to address numerous distinct disorders within a single protocol in Veterans with depressive/anxiety disorders. The proposed research seeks to evaluate the efficacy of TBT by assessing psychiatric symptomatology and related impairment outcomes in Veterans with social anxiety disorder and comorbid posttraumatic stress via a randomized controlled trial of TBT and an existing DST. Assessments will be completed at pre-, mid-, and post-treatment, and at 6-month follow-up. Process variables also will be investigated.

This randomized, single-blind trial tests whether one session of interpretation bias modification reduces immediate social-evaluative anxiety and shifts interpretation bias in Pakistani university students aged 18 to 25 years with elevated social anxiety. Participants are assigned to either feedback-contingent interpretation bias modification or a structurally matched interpretation control condition. Primary and secondary outcomes are assessed before and after the intervention session using short-form state-trait anxiety measures and Word-Sentence Association Paradigm endorsement indices.

This U.S. multicenter, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase 2 clinical trial is designed to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of a repeat intranasal (i.n.) dose of Fasedienol Nasal Spray (fasedienol) (3.2 µg) to relieve symptoms of acute anxiety in adult subjects ages 18 through 65 with Social Anxiety Disorder induced by a public speaking challenge (PSC) in a clinical setting. In addition, safety and tolerability of i.n. administration of 3.2 µg of fasedienol, as-needed, up to 6 times per day for up to 12 months, will be assessed in those subjects who complete PH94B-CL036 and choose to enter the distinct open-label extension phase of the study.

This is a qualitative study of participants who have taken part in a randomized controlled trial comparing transdiagnostic metacognitive therapy and disorder-specific cognitive-behavioral therapy for anxiety disorders. The purpose of the study is to explore participant perceptions of the respective treatment models to facilitate implementation and dissemination of the treatments.

The goal of this clinical trial is to identify the circuit activations by very brief exposure (VBE) among youth with social anxiety disorder (SAD) in order to develop a novel intervention for those with SAD. The secondary objectives of this study are to measure the effect of VBE on subjective fear ratings, and participants' awareness and tolerance of the exposure stimuli. * The primary outcome of this study is the mean activation of frontostriatal and prefrontal brain regions to facial stimuli, as measured by Blood Oxygen Level Dependent (BOLD) response, in 4 regions of interest during the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). * Another primary outcome of the study is to identify networks of regions subserving emotion regulation and attention, as measured by BOLD response of corresponding brain regions. Secondary Outcomes -The secondary outcome of this study is the fear induced by exposure to facial expression stimuli as measured by a 4-point fear scale during the functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) after each block of 10 facial expression stimuli trials. Participants will participate in an interview where they will answer questions both inside and outside of the MRI scan. Participants will be asked to rate on a scale the imagines they see while undergoing MRI scan.

This project is designed to determine if a computer-delivered cognitive-behavioral treatment can improve the otherwise poor alcohol use disorder treatment outcomes for individuals with a co-occurring anxiety disorder. In the past, the investigators showed that this treatment does improve outcomes for these individuals when delivered by a therapist. If the present work shows that the computer-delivered version is also effective, it would provide an inexpensive program with virtually unlimited scalability to enable access to the treatment by many more individuals than is currently the case.

This study compares two treatment approaches for adolescents and young adults with social anxiety. One group will participate in therapy sessions using a virtual reality headset, while the other group will receive sertraline, a commonly used medication for social anxiety. The goal is to see which treatment is more effective in reducing anxiety symptoms and improving daily functioning. The study will also look at how acceptable and safe these treatments are. A total of 56 participants will be enrolled at Kocaeli University, Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Anxiety disorders, including agoraphobia, are prevalent in the German population, leading affected individuals to avoid specific places like crowds or public transport. Although cognitive-behavioral therapy with exposure is an effective treatment, many patients resort to medication rather than therapy. Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy (VRET) shows promise in easing exposure treatment with customizable scenarios. Interoception (body symptom perception) and the endocannabinoid system are explored as factors in maintaining agoraphobia. Studies investigate how therapies like exposure (both in vivo and in VR) impact these factors and treatment outcomes. Interoception, especially in panic disorder patients, plays a crucial role, with accurate heartbeat perception linked to maintaining anxiety. The endocannabinoid system, affecting various functions, is studied for its role in therapy outcomes and its modulation of the body's stress response. The study aims to understand how these systems interact in agoraphobic patients and how therapy affects their functionality.

Purpose of the Research: The primary aim of the proposed study is to conduct a randomized parallel-group 2-arm clinical trial investigating capnometry-guided respiratory intervention (CGRI) for pathological anxiety. CGRI aims to raise end-tidal CO2 levels thereby lowering hyperventilation-induced respiratory alkalosis and its associated fear-eliciting somatic reactions. Psycho-education about anxiety and its effects (PsyEd) will serve as a credible control comparator.

This case-control study will examine whether adolescents aged 12-18 years with a diagnosis of primary headache are more likely to experience elevated social anxiety compared to matched healthy controls. Social anxiety will be assessed using the SAS-A, and the study will also explore whether environmental and sociodemographic factors such as tobacco smoke exposure, BMI, and parental education influence this relationship.
