EDA-Based Adaptive Support in VR ALS Training

This randomized controlled study aims to investigate the effects of an electrodermal activity (EDA)-based adaptive support system on performance during virtual reality (VR)-based advanced life support (ALS) training. Participants' stress levels will be continuously monitored through EDA during the simulation. When stress exceeds a predefined threshold, the adaptive system will automatically activate a support mode that provides additional guidance and time. The performance outcomes of participants receiving adaptive support will be compared with those receiving standard VR training. The study will also examine the role of presence, anxiety, social anxiety, and personality traits in the relationship between stress and performance.

The Effect of Cognitive Exercise Therapy Approach and Yoga in Adolescents With Dysmenorrhoea

Dysmenorrhoea is a condition that negatively affects the quality of life in women of many age groups. In girls with dysmenorrhoea in adolescence, there is an effect on school performance, self-confidence-depression problems and a decrease in quality of life due to pain. In order to eliminate these negative effects, they should receive a good treatment. Medical treatment usually tries to minimise and balance this situation. Considering the fact that families do not want to use drugs such as oral contraceptives in their children at this age and the risks of oral contraceptives, parents are in different searches. Considering that the approach to pain should always be from a holistic perspective, yoga and cognitive exercise therapy approaches are both biopsychosocial treatment methods within the scope of mind-body integrity. Yoga and cognitive exercise therapy approach is thought to reduce symptoms, improve physical functions and quality of life in adolescent girls. With these positive effects, school absenteeism decreases, depression and self-confidence improve. Health costs will also be reduced to some extent.

Psychometric Properties of the Turkish Version of the Staffordshire Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis Questionnaire

Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) have gained increasing importance in scoliosis research in recent years. Although widely used instruments such as the Scoliosis Research Society-22 (SRS-22) include domains related to body image, their primary purpose is to assess overall health-related quality of life and functional outcomes. In contrast, the Staffordshire Questionnaire for Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (SQAIS) was specifically developed to provide a more detailed and patient-centered evaluation of body image and perceived deformity in individuals with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS). However, a Turkish version of the questionnaire with established validity and reliability is not currently available. Therefore, the aim of the planned master's thesis is to conduct the cultural adaptation of the Staffordshire Questionnaire for Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis into Turkish and to evaluate its psychometric properties in adolescents with AIS. The study will involve a systematic process of linguistic translation and cross-cultural adaptation. Subsequently, the validity and reliability of the Turkish version will be assessed through analyses of internal consistency, test-retest reliability, construct validity, and criterion validity. The findings of this study are expected to provide a valid and reliable instrument for assessing body image and deformity perception among Turkish adolescents with idiopathic scoliosis, thereby contributing an important patient-centered outcome measure to both clinical practice and research.

Quadriceps Tendon vs Peroneus Longus Tendon in ACL Reconstruction

This prospective randomized clinical trial aims to compare quadriceps tendon and peroneus longus tendon autografts in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. Patients with anterior cruciate ligament injury undergoing primary reconstruction surgery will be randomly assigned to one of the two graft groups. Clinical examination findings, return-to-sport outcomes, ankle muscle strength, ankle-related functional scores, and gait analysis parameters will be evaluated at 6 months and 12 months postoperatively. The study aims to investigate both knee-related functional outcomes and donor site morbidity associated with graft harvesting techniques.

Effectiveness of Combined GLP-1/GIP Dual Agonist Therapy and Structured Exercise on Skeletal Muscle Morphology, Quality, and Physical Function in Overweight and Obese Individuals

This randomized controlled trial aims to investigate the effects of a 24-week home-based progressive resistance exercise program combined with tirzepatide treatment on skeletal muscle mass, muscle quality, and functional capacity in overweight and obese individuals. A total of 108 participants initiating tirzepatide therapy will be randomized to either exercise plus pharmacotherapy or pharmacotherapy alone. The primary outcome is change in thigh muscle thickness and echo intensity assessed by ultrasonography.

Acute Effects of Smartphone-Delivered Local Vibration on Hand Sensorimotor Performance

This study investigates the acute effects of smartphone-delivered local vibration on hand sensorimotor performance in healthy young adults. Using a custom-developed iPhone application, three vibration frequencies (80 Hz, 150 Hz, and 220 Hz) are applied to the dominant hand in a randomized crossover design with a minimum 48-hour washout between sessions. The primary aim is to evaluate frequency-dependent dose-response effects on hand grip strength. Secondary aims include assessment of two-point discrimination (tactile spatial acuity), pressure pain threshold, and hand reaction time before and immediately after each vibration condition. The study seeks to generate evidence on optimal application parameters for smartphone vibration as an accessible and portable local vibration source in clinical and educational settings.

Evaluation of Injury Risk Factors and Effects of Individualized Exercise Program in Basketball and Volleyball Athletes

This study aims to identify injury risk factors using a clinical/functional test battery in university basketball and volleyball athletes, to develop individualized exercise prescriptions for athletes scoring below established cut-off values on each test, and to evaluate the effects of an 8-week intervention program on test parameters. As a secondary aim, all participants will be monitored prospectively over a 6-month season to assess the incidence of injuries and health problems, and to evaluate the contribution of the individualized program to injury-related health outcomes. The study consists of four phases: (1) baseline cross-sectional assessment (T0), (2) 8-week individualized exercise intervention for athletes below cut-off thresholds, (3) post-intervention reassessment (T1), and (4) 6-month prospective injury surveillance (T2).

Occlusal Splint and Exercise Therapy for Temporomandibular Disorders

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if an exercise protocol can improve temporomandibular pain, jaw function and muscle mechanical properties in individuals with Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD). This study focuses on patients who are already receiving occlusal splint therapy. The main question it aims to answer is: How does the addition of an exercise protocol to occlusal splint therapy affect temporomandibular pain, jaw function and muscle mechanical properties of the masticatory and neck muscles? Researchers will compare the group receiving both occlusal splint therapy and the exercise protocol to a group only occlusal splint therapy to see if the combined approach is more effective. Participants will: * Undergo an initial assessment of the Jaw Functional Limitation Scale-20 (JLFS-20), Craniofacial Pain and Disability Inventory (CF-PDI), Graded Chronic Pain Scale Version 2.0 (GCPS-2.0), jaw range of motion, pain pressure threshold and muscle mechanical properties. * Receive occlusal splint therapy as a part of their treatment. * Perform a structured exercise protocol (only 1 group) * Attend follow up sessions at the 4th week to monitor changes in all initial assessment parameters.

Electrophysiologic Changes After Extended 360° Capsular Release

Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) is a condition characterized by shoulder pain and restricted range of motion, significantly impairing daily living activities. In cases that do not respond to conservative treatment, arthroscopic capsular release is an effective surgical treatment option. The 360° capsular release technique, performed by some surgeons, involves release of the inferior capsule and therefore carries a potential risk of nerve injury due to the anatomical proximity of neurovascular structures such as the axillary nerve. In addition, surgical manipulations performed around the coracoid process may exert mechanical or compressive effects on the musculocutaneous nerve and its sensory continuation, the lateral antebrachial cutaneous nerve, due to their close relationship with the lateral cord of the brachial plexus. The aim of this prospective, single-center observational clinical study is to objectively evaluate the morphological and functional effects of inferior capsular release and coracoid region dissection performed during arthroscopic 360° capsular release surgery on the axillary and musculocutaneous nerves, using electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies (NCS) in patients with frozen shoulder. Patients aged 21-70 years with a diagnosis of frozen shoulder who have not responded to conservative treatments and are scheduled for arthroscopic capsular release will be included in the study. EMG and NCS assessments will be performed at the preoperative baseline, and at 12 weeks postoperatively. For the axillary nerve, the deltoid and teres minor muscles will be evaluated; for the musculocutaneous nerve, the biceps brachii and brachialis muscles will be assessed. Additionally, sensory conduction of the lateral antebrachial cutaneous nerve will be examined. Along with electrophysiological findings, shoulder range of motion (ROM), pain (VAS), muscle strength (MRC), and functional scores will also be recorded. This study is expected to provide objective evidence regarding the effects of arthroscopic capsular release surgery on peripheral nerve function, thereby contributing new data on the safety of the surgical technique and enriching the currently limited literature on electromyographic evaluation in frozen shoulder surgery.

The postpartum period is a critical time marked by significant physiological and psychosocial changes that can affect sleep, emotional well-being, and breastfeeding behaviors. Previous studies indicate that mode of delivery and sleep quality are closely associated with breastfeeding outcomes, with cesarean birth often linked to poorer sleep and lower breastfeeding success. Evidence also suggests that postpartum sleep disturbances are related to reduced breastfeeding self-efficacy, lower motivation, fatigue, depressive symptoms, and shorter breastfeeding duration. However, the literature lacks studies that evaluate insomnia severity, breastfeeding motivation, and breastfeeding success simultaneously-particularly during the first 48 hours after birth. This analytical study aims to assess insomnia severity, breastfeeding motivation, and breastfeeding success (LATCH) within the first 48 postpartum hours and to examine the relationships among these variables. Findings are expected to support early postpartum clinical interventions to improve maternal and infant health outcomes.

The Effect of Early-Phase Graded Motor Imagery Following Massive Rotator Cuff Repair.

Massive rotator cuff tears are associated with significant pain, functional limitations, and prolonged rehabilitation following surgical repair. In the early postoperative phase, rehabilitation protocols are often limited due to surgical protection requirements, which may delay the restoration of motor control and shoulder function. Graded motor imagery (GMI), a movement representation technique that includes laterality recognition, motor imagery, and mirror therapy, has been shown to modulate cortical processing and improve pain and motor function in various musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. However, its potential role in early postoperative shoulder rehabilitation has not been adequately investigated.

Effect of Paternal Touch on Sucking Performance, Comfort, and Glucose Levels in Newborns at Risk for Hypoglycemia

This randomized controlled trial aims to examine the effects of Gentle Human Touch applied by fathers during the first hours of life on sucking performance, comfort level, and blood glucose values in newborns at risk for hypoglycemia. Eligible newborns will be randomly assigned to intervention and control groups. After the newborn is taken to the baby care room and routine care procedures are completed, comfort level will be assessed by the primary nurse and an independent second observer using the Neonatal Comfort and Behavior Scale (NCBS). In the intervention group, the first Gentle Human Touch application will begin after routine care and the initial comfort assessment are completed. Sucking performance will be assessed during the first breastfeeding session by the primary nurse and an independent observer using the LATCH Breastfeeding Assessment Tool. In the intervention group, fathers will administer 15-minute Gentle Human Touch sessions every hour for six hours according to a structured protocol. In the control group, routine care will be provided without any additional touch. In both the intervention and control groups, blood glucose levels will be measured at the 2nd hour according to clinical protocols. At the 6th hour, the newborn's comfort level (NCBS), sucking performance (LATCH), and blood glucose level will be reassessed and recorded. This study aims to determine whether early paternal touch supports glucose stability, improves sucking performance, and enhances comfort in newborns at risk for hypoglycemia, and to contribute to the development of family-centered, non-invasive care practices in neonatal settings.

Effect of Maternal Voice on Physiological Indicators and Feeding Performance

This study aimed to determine the effect of maternal voice on physiological indicators and oral feeding performance in preterm infants. Hypothesis 1 (H1): Preterm infants who listen to their mother's voice throughout the full oral feeding process have higher oxygen saturation levels than those who do not. Hypothesis 2 (H2): Preterm infants who listen to their mother's voice throughout the full oral feeding process have lower heart rates than those who do not. Hypothesis 3 (H3): Preterm infants exposed to maternal voice throughout the full oral feeding process have lower respiratory rates than those who are not exposed. Hypothesis 4 (H4): Preterm infants exposed to maternal voice throughout the full oral feeding process have better feeding maturation than those who are not exposed. This study examines how searching for health information on the internet may affect stress and emotional well-being in women undergoing infertility treatment. Infertility is a common condition that impacts about 48 million couples worldwide and can cause not only physical challenges but also significant emotional strain, including anxiety, depression, and stress. Many women turn to the internet to seek answers about their condition and treatment. While online information can be helpful, it is not always accurate or consistent, which can increase worry and confusion. This repeated and sometimes excessive searching for health information, known as "cyberchondria," has been linked in previous research to increased stress and anxiety. This study will assess women's online information-seeking patterns, infertility-related stress, and overall emotional and social well-being, aiming to better understand the role of cyberchondria in the infertility treatment process. The results may help healthcare professionals offer more targeted support and guidance to women facing these challenges.

Breastfeeding Myths and Mothers' Motivation

Breast milk is a unique and irreplaceable source of nutrition for infants, offering protection against many common childhood diseases due to its natural sterility, accessibility, and immune-boosting antibodies. Exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life is critical for healthy growth, development, and immune support. Despite global recommendations by WHO and UNICEF, lack of knowledge and inadequate support continue to hinder optimal breastfeeding practices. One major barrier is the persistence of cultural myths and misconceptions, such as "colostrum should be discarded," or "infants need water after every feeding." These unfounded beliefs may reduce mothers' confidence and lead to early cessation of breastfeeding or premature introduction of complementary foods. The Effect of Gait Training Using Different Slope Types on Balance in COPD Patients

Although COPD is basically a respiratory system disease, its effects are not limited to the respiratory system. In this context, one parameter affected in COPD patients is balance. Recent studies have highlighted the importance of assessing balance and incorporating it into treatment options such as pulmonary rehabilitation. In this context, we aim to diversify the training by using different slope types (downhill, level, uphill) in aerobic exercise training, which is a strong component of pulmonary rehabilitation, and to evaluate the effect of slope type on balance. Testing different types of inclines in aerobic exercise training has the potential to result in different muscular gains. We anticipate that this may result in different balance gains.

Investigation of Walking Training With Different Slope Types in COPD Patients

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a disease that continues to generate a great deal of research and this research must continue, both because it is not completely curable and because of the large patient population. The importance and benefits of exercise training in COPD patients are clear. One of the most preferred types of exercise training is the so-called aerobic exercise training, which typically takes the form of walking. A typical walking training does not use a slope or may include an uphill slope. However, recently there have been publications about downhill walking and its benefits in COPD. Walking on a level, uphill, and downhill slope may have the potential to result in different gains by using different muscle groups more. Therefore, this study aimed to compare the effects of walking training on exercise capacity, respiratory functions, muscle strength, and functional status in COPD patients with three different slope types: level, uphill, and downhill.
