Eight-week Sports Injury Prevention Program

This study aims to find out whether an 8-week sports injury prevention program can improve lower-body performance-such as power, agility, and balance-among female college athletes in Saudi Arabia. Sports participation has increased among women in Saudi Arabia, but many injury-prevention programs were originally designed for male athletes and may not meet the specific needs of females. This study will help determine whether a tailored program can reduce injury risks and improve athletic performance. Female athletes aged 18-35 years who have been training and competing for at least one year can participate. Athletes with recent injuries, pregnancy, or chronic medical conditions that could affect performance will not be included. Participants will complete tests before and after the program, including jumping, balance, and agility assessments. The prevention program includes warm-up exercises, stretching, strengthening, jumping drills, balance work, and agility training. By comparing results before and after the program, the study will show whether this type of training can help female athletes stay safer and perform better.

Physiological and Psychological Profiles

The participation of women in high-impact sports such as rugby and basketball has been steadily increasing in Saudi Arabia. These sports are known for their physical demands and competitive nature, which have heightened the incidence of sports-related injuries. Understanding the predictive factors for these injuries is critical for developing preventive strategies, reducing long-term health consequences, and reducing healthcare burdens. Therefore, this study aims to identify the predictive effect of physiological factors (e.g., muscle strength, anaerobic power, oxygen consumption) and psychological factors (e.g., self-efficacy, resilience) on sports injuries among female athletes in Saudi Arabia, particularly focusing on those involved in rugby and basketball. A prospective cross-sectional design will be employed, involving a total of 30 female athletes aged 18-35 years actively participating in rugby and basketball. Data will be collected at the lifestyle research center through a series of physiological assessments, including maximal oxygen consumption, anaerobic power testing, isokinetic muscle strength testing, and psychological evaluations using validated questionnaires. The findings are expected to provide insights into the specific factors that increase injury risk among Saudi female athletes, offering targeted strategies for injury prevention. These strategies aim not only to minimize injuries but also to reduce associated healthcare costs, thereby supporting the sustainable growth of women's sports in Saudi Arabia. Ultimately, this study seeks to contribute to the broader objectives of Vision 2030 by promoting a vibrant sports culture and enhancing public health.

Effect of Prebiotics in Saudi Adults With Type 2 Diabetes

This study will explore how a natural food ingredient called oligofructose affects blood glucose levels, lipid profiles, inflammation biomarkers, and gut bacteria in Saudi adults with type 2 diabetes. Oligofructose is a type of dietary fiber found in foods such as onions, garlic, and bananas. It is known to help the growth of "good" bacteria in the intestine, which may improve digestion and metabolism. A total of 100 adults (50 with type 2 diabetes and 50 without diabetes) will take part in this research. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either oligofructose or a placebo twice daily for 12 weeks. Blood tests will be done at the beginning and at weeks 4, 8, and 12 to check changes in blood glucose, lipid profiles, and inflammation. The goal of this study is to find out whether adding oligofructose to the diet can help people with diabetes improve their blood glucose control, reduce inflammation, and support a healthier balance of gut bacteria.

Effects of Wet-Cupping on Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Patients

The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate whether wet cupping therapy (Hijama) can improve reproductive and metabolic outcomes in women diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). This study will be conducted among female participants aged 20-40 years who have been diagnosed with PCOS according to the Rotterdam criteria. The main questions it aims to answer are: Can wet cupping therapy regulate menstrual cycles in women with PCOS? Can it increase the pregnancy rate in married participants with PCOS-related infertility? Researchers will compare outcomes between a wet cupping group and a control group to determine whether Hijama has significant effects on reproductive, hormonal, and metabolic markers. Participants will: Undergo screening and eligibility evaluation using a checklist Be randomized into either the wet cupping (intervention) or control group Receive lifestyle counseling (diet and physical activity) For the intervention group: Receive one Hijama session performed by a certified practitioner Undergo follow-up at 4 and 12 weeks for clinical, hormonal, and ultrasound assessments For all participants: Complete laboratory tests, ultrasound scans, and questionnaires on PCOS symptoms and quality of life Report any side effects during and after the study period

Lifestyle Management App for Adults With Diabetes Type

This study will evaluate whether the 12-week health coaching mobile application (LIVEN) will succeed in enhancing lifestyle behaviors in adults with Type 2 Diabetes compared to typical treatment. The mobile application's viability will be assessed in 2 parts; the first part is testing easiness and friendliness of using Liven by the patient and health coach. The second part is evaluating the suitability of Liven education material for the patients and whether the coaching program results in enhancing lifestyle behaviors and blood sugar levels. the investigators hypothesize that the 12-week online lifestyle-coaching program will be viable, and a full-scale study can proceed.
