Artificial Intelligence-Based Assessment of Endosseous Lesions

Despite these advances, CBCT interpretation remains largely qualitative and dependent on the clinician's experience. Conventional evaluation is based on two-dimensional slices and linear measurements, which may underestimate lesion complexity and spatial distribution. Recent developments in Artificial Intelligence in Medicine have introduced automated image segmentation tools capable of identifying lesion boundaries and calculating volumetric data. These technologies allow a transition from subjective assessment to objective, reproducible quantification. The potential clinical advantages include: * Objective measurement of lesion size (volume in mm³) * Improved surgical planning * Enhanced prediction of anatomical involvement * Reduction of diagnostic errors * Standardization of follow-up and outcome assessment Therefore, the aim of the present study was to evaluate the clinical impact of AI-based segmentation and volumetric analysis of endosseous lesions compared to conventional CBCT interpretation.

Impact of Combined Cardio-pulmonary Assessment on COPD Clinical Management.

The goal of this randomized clinical trial is to learn whether a combined cardio-pulmonary assessment improves cardiac function, exercise capacity, cardiac biomarkers and health-related quality of life in adults with mild-to-moderate chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) who are at high cardiovascular risk or have established cardiovascular disease. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Does the combined cardio-pulmonary assessment improve mean left ventricular ejection fraction (EF) over 12 months compared with standard respiratory care? * Does the combined cardio-pulmonary assessment improve mean 6-minute walk distance (6MWD) over 12 months compared with standard respiratory care? * Does the combined cardio-pulmonary assessment reduce mean NT-proBNP over 12 months compared with standard respiratory care? * Does the combined cardio-pulmonary assessment improve mean Kansas City Cardiomyopathy Questionnaire (KCCQ-12) score over 12 months compared with standard respiratory care? Researchers will compare a combined cardio-pulmonary assessment to standard respiratory care to see whether the integrated approach leads to greater improvements in EF, 6MWD, NT-proBNP, and KCCQ-12. Participants will: * Be randomly assigned to receive either a combined cardio-pulmonary assessment or standard respiratory care * Complete a baseline visit that includes clinical assessment, respiratory function testing, blood tests (including NT-proBNP), a 6-minute walk test, and the KCCQ-12 questionnaire * Undergo cardiovascular evaluation (electrocardiogram and transthoracic echocardiography) if assigned to the combined assessment group * Attend follow-up evaluation at 12 months, repeating the same assessments according to their assigned group

Therapeutic Wavelength Nanotechnology Devices in Alveolar Preservation

After tooth extraction, a progressive alveolar bone resorption is observed. Alveolar ridge preservation consists of placing a biomaterial within the extraction socket and covering it with a membrane. This procedure helps limit physiological bone resorption, making the soft and hard tissue profile of the edentulous site more prosthetically favorable.

Autogenous Tooth Transplantation With Instrumentally Simulated Open Apex and Platelet-Rich Fibrin

Autogenous tooth transplantation (autotransplantation) represents a biologically valid alternative to implant therapy, particularly in young patients where implant placement is contraindicated due to ongoing skeletal growth. This approach preserves alveolar bone volume, maintains periodontal proprioception, and allows physiological adaptation over time.

Primary Stability and Peri-implant Outcomes of Short Implants in Post-extraction Single-tooth Sites

The placement of short implants in post-extraction sockets is a valuable option when residual bone height is limited, minimizing morbidity and treatment time. The management of the peri-implant gap and soft tissues may influence primary stability, hard/soft tissue remodeling, and implant success.

Occlusal Load Distribution and Periodontal Status

Occlusal forces are unevenly distributed among teeth during mastication, potentially predisposing certain teeth to higher functional loads. Teeth subjected to increased occlusal loading may be at greater risk of periodontal breakdown, especially in patients with pre-existing periodontal disease. Technological advances, such as mandibular movement recording systems, allow for precise assessment of occlusal contacts and load distribution. However, the relationship between occlusal loading patterns and periodontal status remains insufficiently investigated. This study aims to evaluate whether teeth exposed to higher masticatory loads show an association with periodontal disease severity.

From Conflict to Family Trauma

This project will examine the experience of the researcher as expert in the family court dealing with questions regarding family units, in conflict and children, victims of the family conflict, victims of abuse and neglect, often repeated over time. After the first consultation, family conflict often recurs, without regard for the treatment received, returning to the civil courts and sometimes to the criminal courts. There are three possibilities at this point, following the first decision of the court (a) there is a separation that resolves conflicts and leads to an improvement in outcomes for the children concerned; (b) pre-existing conditions specific to the children concerned continue, and the decision of the court regading separation has no effect; (c) conflict between the parents continues, with repeated returns to the civil courts, failure of processes of mediation and negotiation, and continuing or exacerbated trauma to the child leading to worse outcomes; (d) where there is a worse outcome, this may be due to the lack of supports following the expert psychological assessment and recommendation to the court..The forensic evaluation of the family often refers the family to public health services for therapeutic interventions and social supports. The lack of these interventions and supports of public health services may exacerbate the family trauma. This may occur (a) because the family conflict continues in the absence of the interventions and supports; (b) because the family trauma is exacerbated by continuing court proceedings because the conflict between parents concerning the care and placement of the children leads to prolonged legal proceedings and may result in worse outcomes for the children, such as criminal behaviour as this struggle continues. The child is 'instrumentalised', used as a pawn or weapon in the struggle between the parents. The research project aims first of all to outline, on the basis of the data to be acquired, (a) whether there is evidence that the decision of the court guided by the expert opinion and recommendations has a beneficial effect on outcomes for the child; (b) specific lines of treatment intervention and better packages of care and support to enhance good outcomes and minimise or prevent these adverse outcomes, under the supervision of the judge.

Rapid De-escalation of Anti-MRSA Therapy Guided by S. Aureus Nares Screening in Case of Pneumonia

The current IDSA/ATS guidelines recommend Linezolid and Vancomycin for MRSA coverage in hospitalized patients with pneumonia, which is common clinical practice in Italy. However, a nasal PCR-assay for MRSA has a high negative predictive value and can facilitate rapid antibiotic de-escalation, thereby avoiding unnecessary anti-MRSA treatments. The indiscriminate use of these drugs has contributed to the emergence of resistant S. aureus strains and has led to significant adverse effects, without providing any survival benefits. Additionally, it has increased hospital stays and associated costs. The proposed study aims to use this diagnostic tool to shorten empirical anti-MRSA treatment duration in pneumonia patients, focusing on reducing antimicrobial therapy days while measuring in-hospital mortality, length of stay and adverse drug event incidence.
