Effects of Post-Isometric Relaxation and Myofascial Release on Low Back Pain With Lower Cross Syndrome

This randomized controlled trial aims to evaluate the combined effects of post-isometric relaxation and myofascial release on pain, flexibility, and functional disability in individuals with low back pain associated with lower cross syndrome. Eligible participants aged 18 to 45 years will be randomly allocated into two parallel intervention groups. One group will receive post-isometric relaxation combined with myofascial release, while the comparison group will receive conventional stretching combined with Therapeutic modalities. Outcomes will be assessed at baseline and after completion of the intervention period. The results of this study are expected to contribute to evidence-based physiotherapy management of low back pain associated with postural imbalance.

Symmetrical Scapula-pelvis Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation and Superficial Back Line in Chronic Neck Pain With Hamstring Tightness

A research study will be conducted at Physiotherapy department of the Sindh Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Karachi, Pakistan. Overall 156 patients with 18-40 years old individuals with neck pain will be eligible and they will be included through non-probability, purposive sampling technique. The written informed consent will be taken from all the patients. They will be divided through Simple random sampling (computer generated software) method into two groups, 78 in each group. Group A (experimental group) will receive PNF Symmetrical Scapula-Pelvis Patterns (PNF-SSPP), group B (control group) will receive sub occipital muscle inhibition technique (SMI) and static stretching (SS) of hamstring muscle. All participants will be assessed using assessment form. Outcome measures will be Pain, disability, disability, neck range of motions, hamstring tightness, head posture, and levator scapulae index. An independent assessor blinded to the treatment will assess all the patients for treatment outcome assessment at baseline, after first session and post treatment. Treatment sessions will be given thrice a week for 6 weeks.

Effects of Diagonal Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation Patterns on Pain and Functional Outcomes in Patients With Knee Osteoarthritis

A randomized controlled trial will be conducted at the Department of Physiotherapy, Dr. Ziauddin Hospital and Al-Rayaz Hospital, Karachi, Pakistan. A total of 150 patients diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis, aged between 40-60 years, will be recruited through a non-probability purposive sampling technique. Written informed consent will be obtained from all eligible participants prior to enrollment. The participants will be randomly allocated by the help of computer generated randomization sheet, into two groups i.e. experimental and the control group, with 75 participants in each group. Group A (experimental group) will receive diagonal proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) pattern exercises, while Group B (control group) will receive conventional strength training exercises. Heat therapy will be administered to both groups. All participants will be assessed using a standardized assessment form. Outcome measures will include pain intensity, knee range of motion, functional disability, hamstring flexibility, dynamic balance, and fatigue level. A single blinded assessor will assess all participants at baseline and at post intervention. Treatment sessions will be given thrice a week on alternate days for 6 weeks.

Walking for Hypothyroidism Trial (WHT)

Women with hypothyroidism often report persistent fatigue, weight gain, autonomic dysregulation, and stress despite stable levothyroxine therapy. This single-center, parallel-group RCT will test whether a structured, supervised 12-week walking program improves basal metabolic rate (BMR) and psychophysiological outcomes compared with usual activity. One hundred twenty women aged 35-55 with stable primary hypothyroidism will be randomized 1:1 to intervention or control.

Wearable Biofeedback Devices for Remote Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation

This study evaluates the effectiveness of wearable biofeedback devices in improving pain, mobility, and rehabilitation outcomes in elderly patients with arthritis and fibromyalgia in Karachi, Pakistan. In a randomized controlled trial involving 120 participants, one group will use biofeedback-integrated devices with guided exercises and virtual consultations, while the control group receives standard physiotherapy.
