Fecal Microbiota Transplant for Anorexia Nervosa

The purpose of this pilot randomized-controlled trial is to determine whether Fecal Microbiota Transplant (FMT) treatment demonstrates feasibility, acceptability, and prelinary effectiveness among patients with anorexia nervosa (AN). Specifically, the investigators aim to compare changes in weight, gut microbiome, urine, blood biomarkers and mood symptoms between participants receiving the FMT intervention and placebo.

Biomarkers in EV Associated With Marrow Adiposity in Anorexia

The aim of this observational study is to identify biomarkers in extracellular vesicles associated with medullary adiposity occurring in patients with anorexia nervosa. The main question it aims to answer is: Can this medullary adiposity be associated with the bone deterioration observed in this population? Participants will be assessed for body composition and a blood sample will be taken by non-invasive techniques.

Novel Targetable BIOmarkers in ANorexia NervosA

The overall aim of this present study is to evaluate Growth Differentiation Factor-15 (GDF-15) and inflammatory cytokines as a possible novel and readily treatable target for the successful therapy of Anorexia Nervosa (AN). Therefore, GDF-15, neuronal and glial damage markers such as Neurofilament light chain (Nfl) and Glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) and cytokines (such as Tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), Interleukin-6 (IL-6), and Interleukin 1β (IL-1β) levels will be assessed in the serum as well as in the cerebrospinal fluid of patients with diagnosed restrictive AN with and without exercising behavior compared to sex- and age-matched healthy controls to consolidate previous findings and to identify the main site of production of GDF-15 and cytokines in AN.

Acetylcholinesterase Inhibitor in Anorexia Nervosa: Multicenter, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Trial

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if the daily take of donepezil can treat adult patient suffering from anorexia nervosa. The main question it aims to answer is : do daily donepezil intake permit weight gain and reduction of food restriction rituals ? The treatment is a capsule comprising a drug limiting the degradation of a neurotransmitter called acetylcholine. This treatment has long been used to treat certain cognitive disorders. Researchers will compare two drug dosage and a look-alike capsule that contains no drug to see if the dose has an impact on the effect. Participants will take one capsule per day for three months will have regular hospital visits for cognitive and metabolic tests.
