Clinical Outcomes of Intubation Techniques in Anesthesia

Before surgery, patients will be evaluated by an anesthesiologist at the anesthesia clinic and informed in detail about the study. Patients who do not wish to participate in the study will absolutely not be included, and this will not affect the patients' treatment process in any way. The anesthesia method to be applied to patients who agree to participate in the study will not differ from routine anesthesia application. In other words, no additional medication, procedure, or different anesthesia method will be applied to patients within the scope of the study. After the surgery is completed, patients will be monitored in the recovery room and during their hospital stay. During this monitoring, it will be observed and recorded whether patients have complaints such as sore throat, cough, or hoarseness.

Relationship Between Induction Burst Suppression and Bispectral Index

The purpose of this study is to understand whether certain brain activity patterns that can appear at the beginning of anesthesia are related to how deep anesthesia remains during the operation. The main question of the study is: Do patients who show a pattern called burst suppression during the start of anesthesia experience deeper anesthesia during surgery? Patients who are scheduled for elective surgery under total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA) may take part in this study. During the operation, brain activity will be monitored using a sensor placed on the forehead (Bispectral Index, BIS monitor), which is already commonly used during anesthesia. Information such as BIS values and the doses of anesthesia medications given during the operation will be recorded. Participation in this study will not change the type of anesthesia or the routine care that patients receive during surgery. The study only involves recording and analyzing information collected during standard anesthesia monitoring.

Effect of Anesthesia Technique on Surgical View in Shoulder Arthroscopy

This prospective observational study evaluates the effect of the anesthesia method (general anesthesia versus regional anesthesia \[interscalene nerve block/superficial cervical block\] with sedation) on the operating clarity of the surgical view and the surgeon's satisfaction during elective shoulder arthroscopy. The study investigates how these different anesthesia techniques influence intraoperative conditions, specifically bleeding amounts and the visibility of the surgical field, which are critical for the success of this minimally invasive procedure. Additionally, the research will monitor patient-centered outcomes, including postoperative pain levels, recovery time, and potential side effects such as nausea or vomiting, to determine which anesthesia strategy provides the optimal balance of surgical efficiency and patient comfort.

Exercise Effects on Pain, Sleep and Depression in Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy

It is known that the pain experienced by individuals with diabetic neuropathy negatively impacts sleep and quality of life, leading to numerous psychosocial problems such as anxiety and depression. Studies in the literature indicate that exercise, a non-pharmacological method, improves pain and sleep quality in individuals with diabetic neuropathy. However, no studies have been found evaluating the effects of foot-ankle exercises on pain, sleep quality, and depression in individuals with diabetic neuropathy. This research aims to examine the effects of foot-ankle exercises on pain, sleep quality, and depression in individuals with diabetic peripheral neuropathy. This randomized controlled experimental study will be conducted with 70 individuals with diabetes diagnosed with diabetic neuropathy, registered in the patient information systems of two public hospitals. The foot-ankle exercises will be performed by the patients in their homes, twice a day, three days a week, for eight weeks. The research data are as follows: The Introductory Information Form will be collected using the S-Lanns (Self-Leeds Assessment of Neuropathic Symptoms and Sign) Pain Scale, VAS-Visual Analog Scale, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), and Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). This study is important because it will determine the effects of foot and ankle exercises on pain, sleep disturbances, and depression, which are common problems experienced by individuals with diabetic neuropathy.

Music Therapy Applied During Hemodialysis

Many symptoms are encountered during the hemodialysis treatment process, and fatigue and insomnia are two of the most common symptoms. The management of these symptoms, which negatively affect the quality of life and mental well-being of individuals, is very important. It is known that the effects of pharmacological treatments are limited in the management of symptoms encountered during the HD treatment process, and the tendency towards non-pharmacological methods in symptom management is increasing. This study will be conducted to determine the effects of music therapy to be applied to individuals receiving HD treatment on fatigue, sleep quality and mental well-being. This randomized controlled experimental study will be conducted with 60 individuals receiving treatment in the hemodialysis clinic of a public hospital. Individuals will receive 30 minutes of music therapy after the 2nd hour of each hemodialysis session for 4 weeks. Research data will be collected using the Introductory Information Form, Chalder Fatigue Scale, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Scale and Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-Being Scale. This study is important because it is the first study to evaluate the effects of music therapy on fatigue, sleep quality and mental well-being of individuals receiving HD treatment. It is thought that music therapy applied to individuals receiving HD treatment will contribute to the literature on evidence.
