Effects of Hybrid Family Planning Counseling on Postpartum Maternal Health

This research aims to examine the effects of hybrid family planning counseling on maternal health in the postpartum period. The study is unique and innovative in that it evaluates the effectiveness of hybrid counseling models, which are gaining importance in the literature but have been the subject of a limited number of studies, particularly in Turkey. The World Health Organization recommends a minimum interval of 24 months between births, and it is known that early postpartum pregnancies have negative effects on maternal and neonatal health. In this context, the hybrid family planning counseling model to be developed will contribute to reducing maternal mortality and morbidity by supporting women in making informed and correct contraceptive choices. Furthermore, it is predicted that the findings of the study will be directly related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, namely gender equality, healthy living, and quality education. The research is planned as a randomized controlled longitudinal study. Data collection is planned for August 2026 at the Adana City Training and Research Hospital antenatal clinic. The sample will consist of a total of 96 pregnant women, 48 in the experimental group and 48 in the control group, determined by power analysis. A counseling module will be created by gathering expert opinions. The module will consist of 3 sessions. Each session will last 45 minutes, including 30 minutes of interactive presentation and 15 minutes of question and answer. The module sessions will have a dynamic structure that takes into account the needs of the mother during pregnancy and the postpartum period. The first meeting will be held face-to-face in the hospital at 34-38 weeks of pregnancy, the second meeting will be online within the first 4 weeks postpartum, and the third meeting will be online at 6 weeks postpartum. During the implementation phase, quantitative measurements of the research will be carried out using the "Antenatal Pregnancy Information Form", "Postnatal Mother Information Form", "Postpartum Family Planning Attitude Scale", "Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale" and "Sexual Life Quality Scale". Research hypotheses: H0: Longitudinal hybrid family planning counseling (antenatal-postpartum period) does not affect maternal health. H1: Longitudinal (antenatal-postpartum) hybrid family planning counseling affects maternal health.

THE EFFECTS OF GAME-BASED EXERCISE PROGRAMS

Studies comparing aerobic exercise with virtual reality or video game technologies to traditional games and classical exercise have been conducted in healthy adolescents, but no studies comparing virtual reality and video game technologies have been found. Based on all this, we aimed to investigate the effect of virtual reality and video game-based exercise programs on physical fitness and attention levels in healthy adolescents. The study was planned as a quantitative experimental randomized controlled trial. Healthy individuals aged 10-18 years who meet the inclusion criteria will be evaluated during the dates of the study. Individuals will be divided into 3 groups: a classical physical activity group, a virtual reality group, and a video-based game group. Each program will be implemented for 20-30 minutes, three days a week for eight weeks. The Physical Activity Scale for Adolescents was used to evaluate the physical activity of the individuals, the Multidimensional Body-Self Relationship Scale was used to measure body image, and the Exercise Benefit/Barrier Scale was used to measure exercise perception. To measure attention, balance, and reaction time, the D2 Attention Test, Y-Balance Test, and Nelson's Hand Reaction Test will be administered, respectively. In the virtual reality and video-based game group, the games played by participants will be similar to the physical activities performed in the classic exercise group. One or more games incorporating these physical activities will be selected.

Turkish Version of the Neurogenic Bladder Symptom Score Short Form

This observational study aims to evaluate the cross-cultural adaptation and psychometric properties of the Turkish version of the Neurogenic Bladder Symptom Score Short Form (NBSS-SF) in adults with spinal cord injury or multiple sclerosis who have neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction. Neurogenic bladder symptoms, such as urinary incontinence, urgency, and difficulties with urine storage or emptying, may negatively affect daily functioning and quality of life. In this study, the validity and reliability of the Turkish NBSS-SF will be examined, and convergent validity will be assessed through its relationship with the King's Health Questionnaire (KHQ) and the Short Form-12 (SF-12). In eligible participants, the scale will be administered again after 7 to 14 days. The aim of the study is to provide a valid and reliable Turkish patient-reported outcome measure for use in clinical practice and research.

Mobile Prenatal Education for Expectant Fathers and Its Effects on Bonding, Stress, Breastfeeding and Marital Satisfaction

The aim of this interventional clinical trial is to assess whether a mobile-based antenatal education programme for expectant fathers has a positive effect on father-infant bonding, stress levels, and breastfeeding attitudes. The study aims to answer the following main questions: Does participation in a mobile-based prenatal education programme strengthen fathers' emotional bonds with their babies? Does the education reduce fathers' stress levels during the prenatal and postnatal periods? Does it increase the father's knowledge and supportive attitude towards breastfeeding? Researchers will compare whether there are measurable differences in attachment, stress, and breastfeeding attitudes between the intervention group (fathers receiving mobile-based education) and the control group (fathers receiving standard routine information). Participants: Will complete pre- and post-intervention questionnaires assessing attachment, stress, and breastfeeding attitudes. The intervention group will have access to a six-module mobile application covering topics such as infant care, nutrition, sleep routines, health and safety, emotional development, and daily care practices. The study will be conducted with fathers aged 19-65 who became fathers within the last month and voluntarily agreed to participate.

Backward Walking and Related Factors in Individuals With Stroke

Objective: To examine the relationship between backward walking ability and lower extremity function, proprioception, trunk control, and balance in individuals with stroke. Thirty individuals aged 30-85 who have had a stroke will be included in our study. Individuals with stroke who can walk 10 m without physical assistance, whose lower extremity functions are in the Brunnstrom motor recovery stages 2-6, who have been post-stroke for at least 3 days and up to 24 months, and who score 24 or higher on the Mini Mental Test will be included. Demographic information of individuals with stroke who meet the inclusion criteria will be recorded in a personal information form. Lower extremity function will be evaluated with the 3-meter back walking test (3MGYT), proprioception with the Fugl Meyer lower extremity assessment scale, with a digital goniometer, trunk control with the Trunk Impairment scale, and balance with the Brief BESTTest.

Bed Bridge Test in Acute Stroke Patients

Studies examining the validity and reliability of easy-to-apply muscle strength and mobility outcome measures in the acute and subacute phases of stroke are quite limited. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate whether the In-Bed Bridge Test is a useful outcome measure for assessing lower extremity muscle strength and mobility in stroke.
